Post Deployment Health Reassessment

When deployment comes to an end, Service members are typically eager to return to their families, friends and the lives they left behind. Yet for many, their past conflicts with a new reality—one which can lead to physical and mental health challenges as well as readjustment concerns. The Post Deployment Health Reassessment (PDHRA) is designed to pinpoint these concerns three to six months after a Service member’s return from deployment, when they are most likely to surface. It is a service extended to all previously deployed military members to ensure a continuum of care.

The PDHRA is a Force Health Protection program which provides education, screening and a global health assessment to identify concerns and facilitate access to care for deployment-related health issues. Service members are asked to answer several screening questions, and then discuss their concerns with a Health Care Provider to determine if it is necessary to pursue a more detailed diagnostic evaluation, additional treatment or more health-related information.

LHI administers the PDHRA program in one of two ways: through our Call Center or an on-location visit from our travel team of Health Care Providers, Administrative Assistants, Military Benefits Advisors and Behavioral Health Consultants.
