LHI understands compliance with all appropriate federal regulations is key to a successful medical testing program. Our proven ability is demonstrated in current work with federally-regulated customers. At a minimum, we perform federally-regulated exams within our network of providers for the Department of Transportation (DOT), and Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). All services are performed while complying with numerous regulatory bodies, such as The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
All of our medical providers possess a working knowledge of and access to any OSHA, FRA, NIOSH, FMCSA (DOT) and ANSI regulations that are applicable to the medical services they will perform. LHI’s provider network is comprised of occupational health providers and other medical providers who are licensed and board-certified with extensive experience in performing these types of exams while recognizing the physical demands and responsibilities placed on commercial drivers and other safety-sensitive regulated positions.
In addition to the regulations set forth for the medical examinations, the federally-regulated employees must also participate in a workplace drug and alcohol testing program in accordance with the company’s drug testing policy. LHI ensures its contracted medical providers have fully-trained drug screen collectors on staff who are familiar with the proper drug screen collection procedures, shy bladder procedures and “DOT Urine Specimen Collection Procedures Guidelines.”
